What Kind of
Packer
are You?

What makes packing unique , is that no one person does it the same. We have grouped together a few different types of packers of whom we all know or represent in one way or another.

There is nothing like the whimsicality and adrenaline rush that comes from the excitement of traveling. The idea of seeing new sights, eating great food, and taking loads of cute pictures to post on Instagram powers us through excruciatingly long work weeks. But before we get to bathe in the sun, tour the coast, or make memories of a lifetime we all have to take on the laborious task known as packing. It’s all fun and games until we have to squeeze our favorite body wash into a travel sized container.

No matter who you are or where you’re from, packing up items to haul around the world is not the most invigorating of tasks. What makes packing unique however, is that no one person does it the same. However, we can group together a few different types of packers of whom we all know or represent in one way or another.

“The Last-Minute Packer”

Hasn’t this been all of us at some point? Folks get so caught up in the preparation of the trip and handling details at home prior to leaving and before they know it time has passed them by and it's approximately 8 hours before they have to check in at the airport. This type of packer probably just throws the nearest Hawaiian shirt and pair of underwear in their suitcase and hopes for the best and is probably forced to spend an exorbitant amount of money for toothpaste at the airport gift shop.

“The Over Packer”

This person almost always checks-in their bags. It doesn’t matter if it’s for one week or one day, they will have a bag filled to the brim with everything and then some. They’re the type of person to bring a pair of swim trunks to a ski resort or a puffer coat for a stay in Puerto Rico. Also don’t be surprised if they bring 2 shirts for every one pair of pants because they’ll want options when they go out to dinner. The good news about traveling with an over packer is that if you forget something there’s a pretty good chance, they brought 10 versions of it.

“The Minimalist Packer”

This type of packer brings along the bare essentials and that’s about it. They stuff a bag just big enough to store under the airplane seat in front of them. They tend to travel cheaply, and their baggage is indicative of that. Don’t expect them to have anything extra to spare if you travel with them so be sure to bring everything you need along for the journey.

“The Efficient Packer”

The most balanced of all the types of packers is “The Efficient Packer”. Have you ever seen those videos where the person teaches you how to fold your clothes into cute cylindrical shapes? Chances are you were looking at an efficient packer at work. They pack what they need, would want, and a few things for emergencies, all without making their bags too stuffed. They plan in accordance with their trip itinerary, and it shows! You won’t find them at the airport kiosks struggling to lift their bag on the scale or to even carry it around. They take what they need but also take things that provide much needed ease while en-route to their destination. They most definitely would have a Helena Deneen luxury bag identifier, a unique luggage tag that makes it easy to spot your luggage in a sea of suitcases. With an arrangement of colors and style, our individualized Persona tags bring ease and style to your traveling experience all tied up in a luxe bow. Order yours here.
